About the Institute

The Kennan Institute, a U.S. center for advanced research on Eurasia, has an illustrious, decades-long history. Its mission is to produce high-quality, non-partisan analysis of the former Soviet Union, to convene meetings that contribute to policy formation and to serve as a bridge between “the world of ideas and affairs in Washington,” in the words of James Billington, one of the founders of the Kennan Institute.
