Anastasiia Lystsova

Anastasiia Lystsova is a PhD Candidate in History at Princeton University. She is a historian of the Russian Empire and Eastern Europe, specializing in the intersection of intellectual and political history, sovereignty, and imperial governance. Her dissertation, Empire and Sovereignty: Russian Expansion and European Order, examines how Catherine II challenged the European political order and developed alternative practices of sovereignty through Russian involvement in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Sweden, and the Crimean Khanate. She is currently developing her dissertation into a book manuscript, expanding its comparative scope to include the Hetmanate.
