Nils Haneklaus is a Senior Postdoc at the University of Vienna, Austria, where he leads research on energy security, critical materials, and strategic supply-chain dependencies. Dr. Haneklaus holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University in Germany, as well as MSc degrees from institutions in Germany and the United States. His current work examines how technologically constrained energy and critical-material supply chains create geopolitical leverage, with a particular focus on Russia, Eurasia, and European energy security.
