Jeffrey Edmonds is an expert on U.S. national security and has covered numerous geographical regions and their implications for U.S. security interests. He has served as the Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He is a senior analyst at CNA and founder of True North Policy. He has served as the Director and Senior Director for Russia on the National Security Council and as a senior military analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve and has served on both active duty and the reserves for thirty years, with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
