Anna Chechel

Anna Chechel is Professor of Public Policy and Administration at Mariupol State University, Ukraine, and a Visiting Scholar at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on institutional resilience, adaptive governance, and sustainable recovery amid war and displacement. Displaced from Donetsk in 2014 and Mariupol in 2022, she has worked with academic and civic partners in Ukraine and the United Kingdom. As a Kennan Institute Digital Fellow, she examines how Ukrainian public institutions learn and collaborate during prolonged war, and which adaptations can strengthen governance during recovery and reconstruction.
